The capital of Great Britain seems to have started combating high volumes of traffic and congestion. Hundreds of operators and individuals using used vans for daily operations in the capital city will now be faced with stricter rules regarding their vehicles and the registration process. It is all connected with the new London Fleet Auto Pay congestion charge discount scheme. This change in the rules will probably affect well over five thousand operators and around 21000 used vans. As per the new rule drivers of used vans need to provide a proof that they drive genuine business vehicles at any time they want to register vehicles for business purposes. Previously both fleets and individuals could simply enter the registration number of used vans and the name of the registered owner. Now as the requirements have gone a little bit up, everyone is obliged to provide proof of business insurance for any used vans. As the London authorities say the changes are to be treated as a sort of safeguards which aim at preventing the registration of non-fleet or non-business vehicles for the discount. In other words, those extra checks are intended to prove that used vans and other vessels entering the capital are business vehicles indeed.
